Neichü drives her own hours — and pays for her daughter's college

When Neichü first signed up as a driver on KohimaTaxi & Delivery, she was juggling three days a week driving for a private travel company and two nights a week working at her cousin's restaurant. Her daughter had just started her second year at Nagaland University, and every extra rupee counted.

"On the old job, my boss decided when I worked," she says. "Now I decide."

Six months in, Neichü drives full-time on the app. She starts at 7 AM to catch the office commuters, takes a break at 11 AM to pack her daughter's lunch, and picks up food deliveries between 12 and 3 PM when ride demand is lower. "The app switches you between rides and deliveries. I just tap once and I'm doing food. I don't lose a minute."

Her earnings have doubled. But what she talks about most is the schedule. "I'm home by 8. I eat with my daughter every night. That's the difference."
